August Favourites

Monday 8 September 2014

Annoyingly (for me, probably not for you) my August Favourites are appearing over a week into September. I usually try to put my favourites up right at the end of the month or the very beginning of the new one but time got away from me. I salute any blogger who manages to keep to a schedule while working full time; I demand you share your tips! Anyway, on to the favourites…

1. Dolce and Gabbana Clarifying Lotion:

High end skincare has never really been my thing but I found myself purchasing the Dolce and Gabbana clarifying lotion without much thought. I had no real intention of using it that often as I already had a great skincare routine but this is perfect for when I’m being lazy. I’ll remove my make up with Bioderma or *gasp* a make-up wipe before running the D&G Clarifying Lotion over my face. The amount of left over gunk from a quick make up removal that shows up on my cotton pad is absolutely disgusting. Bleh at my face.

2. Kurt Geiger Carvela Jennie Iridescent Heels:

Ah my new loves. I don’t really take many risks when it comes to my clothing so I let my shoes do all the talking and damn do these shoes make a statement. They’re bold, eyecatching and, I guess for some, a little too extreme. They’re a more delicate version of the heels I recently bought from Office and I literally can’t get enough of them. I currently have them out on display so I can see them every morning; I am a total loser.

3. Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Passion Fruit:

This is a fairly typical nail polish shade for me (so much so that I effectively bought the matte version in Topshop’s Tobasco Trouble) so it rarely leaves my nails. I did take a break from it for a while in order to use my other nail polishes but I missed Passion Fruit’s beautiful pinkness on my nails. It stains my nails something chronic but its perfection is worth it.

4. Maltesers Teasers:

I’m drooling just thinking about this chocolate. I don’t really like maltesers as they are but put them in bar form and I’m all over it. This has been getting the better of me for a good few weeks now so I really need to cut down on my chocolate intake but I can’t stop. Damn you Mars for making such delicious chocolate!

5. NFL Bad Lip Reading:

If you follow me on Twitter you’ll know fine well I’m a huge NFL fan – I’m sorry to all my followers – so this favourite probably isn’t a surprise. I was actually only shown these videos a few weeks ago and now I can’t stop watching them. Whenever I’m in a bad mood or need a mood boast I stick this video on and happily laugh away. Jim Harbaugh screaming about how he wants cake now gets me every time.

So there you have my August Favourites. I’m going to pay close attention to the date so I can actually get my September Favourites up in a timely fashion. Oh who am I kidding? I don’t even know what day it is.
