June Favourites

Tuesday 1 July 2014

Before I get into this I’d like to state that my dad assisted (i.e. commandeered) the photo taking part of this post and well, he can be a bit “out there” at times…

It seems the rest of Britain basked in the warm, sunny weather while I sat in an office with no windows throughout the whole of June. If I didn’t have to write the date every day I would be completely oblivious to the fact it’s now July. The weather is wasted on me.

Anyway, as it’s now apparently July I guess it’s time for my June favourites. Does this sentence sound really unenthusiastic? Crap!

1. Elizabeth Arden Perfect Flamingo Lipstick:

This used to be one of my favourite lipsticks but then I bought new, shiny lipsticks and forgot all about it. I rediscovered it while moving rooms and instantly fell back in love with it. It’s a gorgeous bright pink that isn’t too in your face and transitions perfectly from day to night. It’s creamy, well pigmented and looks good for most of the day.

2. Palmers Cocoa Butter:

This moisturiser is a freaking life saver! Ok, that may be an exaggeration but it reversed damage to my skin that was caused by cream containing emu oil so it deserves some appreciation. As I’ve mentioned time and time again I suffer from eczema and, just as a flare up was about to disappear, I mistakenly used that emu oil cream. My skin had never been in such a bad state before so I immediately broke out the Palmers Cocoa Butter and my flare up is now back to the almost disappearing stage. Go Palmers!

3. Zara Red and Coral Sandals:

Shoes are my one weakness (I actually have many weaknesses but I’m afraid something or someone will try to exploit them so I refuse to share) and as soon as I saw these ones on Style Scrapbook I immediately snapped them up. I’ve been rocking them on a regular basis and won’t be stopping any time soon. They’re incredibly comfortable, easy to walk in and are a rather interesting take on either a plain red sandal or a plain coral one.

My dad insisted that the gnome had his nails painted for this picture.

4. Topshop Tabasco Trouble:

I’ve already expressed my love for this nail polish in another post but hey, it’s a brilliant nail polish so I may as well express my love for it again. I bought this to get free delivery on an order from Topshop and didn’t expect too much from it; as soon as I first applied it though I was hooked. It’s a gorgeous deep pink, bordering on red, it has the perfect matte finish and it looks incredible all day.

5. Volvic Coco Pineapple Water:

It’s not Summer without copious amounts of water! I spotted the Volvic Coco Pineapple water while practically crying over the fact the store was out of cheese sandwiches (I’m a sandwich drama queen) and went straight for it. As the flavour of it (coconut and pineapple) was inspired by Brazil and the World Cup so I’m assuming that this is limited edition. Annoyingly it’s not sugar free so I’m limiting my intake of it but if you’re looking for Summer in a bottle this is your drink!
