Jeffrey Campbell Beanes

It happened again, I just couldn’t resist. My bank card somehow jumped into my hand and next thing I knew I was reading a confirmation email about the Jeffrey Campbells I had just purchased. Whoops.

My love for Jeffrey Campbell is still going strong but I decided to be practical and go for shoes that didn’t have spikes, an inconsistent heel or leopard print. I did keep the giant heel and platform but my idea of practical isn’t exactly the same as the Webster’s dictionary definition.

I was deciding between a gorgeous pair of gold wedges, an obnoxious pair of floral wedges and the ones I ended up with. I figured that, although the other 2 choices were stunning, there was a gap in my shoe collection for a design like the Beanes thus they were purchased.

The heel is probably a little bit too much for people who aren’t used to towering above everyone but honestly these are so easy to walk in. The heel height is 5 inches but the platform means your feet are barely at an angle which makes the shoes super comfortable.

I wandered around the hills and cobbles of Edinburgh for 5 hours in these and the only time I stumbled was when I was too busy confusing myself with the bags I was holding. I’m not the best walker in heels just yet (I’ve been wearing them for 3 years so I’m starting to worry that I’ll never perfect the heel walk) but I can practically run in these. I won’t be winning the World Series in them that’s for sure but I could probably win a race against a slow dog or a snail.

The only issue I’ve had with the Beanes so far is the blue of the insole. After I removed my shoes from the 5 hour walking session I noticed my feet were beginning to resemble a smurf. I have also rocked the Beanes for 7 hours straight at work but never thought to look at my feet for smurfiness. It’s a bit of a weird issue but I really don’t like having blue feet.

I’m rather happy with myself for choosing the Beanes over the other Jeffrey Campbells I was drooling over. They’re probably not suitable for everyone’s lifestyle but I thoroughly enjoy wearing inappropriate shoes at inappropriate times so I’m going to be getting plenty of use out of them. Excuse me while I introduce my Beanes to my other Jeffrey Campbells. I’m normal I swear!
